Missperception
Missperception has been a presence in the underground music scene for over three decades. Drawing from a wide range of genres, she has cultivated a distinctive and versatile sound that resists easy classification.
Missperception began DJing in 2000, performing in bars, clubs, free parties, and on pirate radio throughout Yorkshire. These early grassroots performances introduced audiences to a diverse range of underground music.
In 2004, she turned her focus to production, completing a two-year music technology course and establishing her own studio. She served as resident DJ for the legendary JOY events, presenting her own productions and remixes. This role led to performances with respected techno artists including Joey Beltram, Gayle San, Speedy J, and The Advent.
She has released music on a number of respected independent labels, including Tekknik eXPrimental, Mastertraxx, Bonzai, Ibiza Boys, Algorithm, and One Shoe Records. She also founded and ran G Punk Records, an imprint dedicated to raw, underground hip-hop.
The Divider has been featured on BBC Introducing. She is currently deep in the studio forging her most charged, uncompromising transmissions yet. The horizon is already crackling with what comes next. The signal is rising fast.
Music, artwork, videos, and this website are created by Missperception — composed, produced, and designed from the studio to the screen, with 20+ years in music production, 15+ years in graphic design, and 10+ years in web design behind every release.
